Well hello and thanks for stopping by. I'm Darcy and I'm happy that you're here.
I grew up making things in a family full of women who loved to bake and sew and I fit right in. I sewed in high school and worked in a fabric store and then I went to college. Several degrees later I found myself teaching elementary school art and loving it. I forgot all about sewing until my best friend couldn't find the "right" quilt for her first baby and I thought I could make one and the rest is history.
I've tried almost every type of art medium but fabric is the one that stuck. I love to sew. It's the one thing I never get tired of. I love everything from the first pull of fabrics to the last stitch in the binding. And pulling a freshly washed new quilt from the dryer for that first snuggle - it's addictive. I also love the way that you can make art that is beautiful and useful, the marriage of form and function satisfies me completely.
So these days you'll find me raising one wonderful daughter, in the kitchen with my husband baking up something sweet or at the sewing machine and I couldn't be happier.
I sew on a Juki TL-2010Q and I'll sing it's praises to you every chance I get.
Thanks for joining me here and if you have any questions or comments I'd love to hear them, my email is firstname.lastname@example.org - write me any time.
