52 Weeks of Color for Quilters :: Week 16 Split Complements (2)
We're talking about Split Complements again this week - these are sets of colors made up of one color and the the two colors on either side of it's complement on the color wheel. Just as a refresher a color's complement is always directly opposite it on the color wheel :-)
This week's set is comprised of red-orange, blue and green. I'm making improv blocks for all my split complements sets. The Kona colors I used this week are:
Red-orange - Flame
Blue - Royal
Green - Clover
Finally a few prints from my stash that correlate with the colors of this set. This set feels very masculine to me, add some yellow green and maybe a little brown and I see the beginnings of a boyish quilt. Hopefully as we go through these different color combinations you'll begin to see relationships you like and see how these colors can be building blocks for bigger projects!
