Happy Friday! Today I have the last variation on the mini quilt that I've been sharing all week. If one block is a mini then I figure this is the mega mini (no? too silly? better idea? please share :-)
So this block is so quick and easy that I used the Hip Holiday and Kate Spain fabrics that I bought for a quilt last year (whoops) and threw together a Christmas quilt! It measures 57"x75", perfect for snuggling under by the tree. I love the versatility of this block and the visual impact the big blocks make.
I had three color groups (red, green, white/gray) and I used 1/3 yard each of 4 different fabrics per color (so 12 different fabrics total). I was excited to use only a 1/3 yard per fabric, it made it seem like it didn't take a lot of fabric to put together a good sized quilt. I cut each strip 11" by the WOF and then sub-cut the remaining blocks for each fabric from that strip.
Straight line quilting and green flannel backing and this baby is done just in to kick off the holiday season.
Thanks for hanging out this week! I'm linking up with Crazy Mom Quilt for Finish It Up Friday.
