Monday Momentum

I worry sometimes that doing what I love isn't enough, that I should have a Plan, that I should know Where I'm Headed. I've never been good as knowing that. What I do know is that making things makes me happy, that I love my family to bits and that I want to live a creative life, creating joy and beauty. Right now I have no idea where this path will take take me but I am doing my best to show up, do the work and have faith that the answers will come.

I'm trying to set less achievement goals for myself (I will finish 3 quilts this week, I will blog everyday, etc) and set more process oriented goals, such as I will sew for at least an hour two days this week because sewing makes me a happier person. So far, so good. Less pressure and more enjoyment and the funny thing? Stuff actually IS getting finished!

Thanks for stopping by - hope Monday treats you well :-)

  1. I read this a couple days ago and have been thinking about it ever since. I love the idea of setting fewer achievement goals. These days I only seem to sew when I have to make something for someone (a gift or something my girls saw that they want me to make). I wish I could just walk up to my machine and see where the day takes me. Hopefully I'll get there soon. Thanks for the great read :)
