Finish It Up Friday :: Robot Baby Quilt

Happy Friday everyone! I have a finish that makes me so happy to look at this week, my robot baby quilt. Some dear friends are having a much hoped for, long-awaited baby next month and since he's a toy designer (how cool is that?!) and they love all things Japanese I wanted to do something a little different for their baby girl. This was the colorful result  - "Fun Bots" fabric by Ann Kelle combined with a rainbow of fabrics from my stash
This worked out perfectly with the Economy Block sew-a-long sweeping IG right now - I was so pleased to be able to join in the fun and get this gift finished! I made the larger 12.5" blocks that Katy at I'm a Ginger Monkey gave the dimensions for, along with Rita's Economy Block Tutorial and they came together quickly and easily.
More robots on the back - the final measurements were right at 36"x48" and I had a yard and a half of fabric for the back. These are from the same line by Ann Kelle and I was beyond thrilled to find that pink robot fabric did indeed exist in the world :-)
I didn't do too much quilting as I wanted it to be soft for the baby. I hope they love it as much as I do!
Hope your weekend includes some silliness :-)
